It has been difficult for us east coasters to talk and connect with our west coast and Alaska families. The time change really is a huge pain in the butt. When our friends are just getting home from work, we are already in bed. Ugh... I hate that part of being so far away. Everyone reading should get skype and find me, I think that my user name is lanikeller. Let's all skype. See below for how awesome it can be. Bex gets completely transfixed though because he doesn't get to watch screens very often and he LOVES it.
Auntie mary left this morning and she will be greatly missed. She left us a bunch of packs of gum and Bex was VERY excited about these. He learned that he could shake them and make some pretty awesome music. I was taking a video of him shakin' it and then he did the best thing ever and just turned around and mooned his dad. Ha! Video posted below for your viewing pleasure.
Auntie Mary came to visit this weekend. We have had a wonderful, fabulous, and amazing time! We drove up the coast to Mystic Pizza (yes, from the movie), played endlessly with Bex, and drooled continuously on Mary. At first Bex was a little timid around Mary but by the end he was literally crawling all over her. Topher watched Bex one night so Mary and I got to go out on the town a little and had awesomely bizarre sushi (compliments of Auntie Sarah who gave us a gift certificate when we arrived in CT). It was really fun to have a friend in town. Here are a few pics of our adventures:
We have a speedster on our hands. Bex has gotten seriously fast in the last week. Noticeably faster! Watch the video below for evidence. We have another visitor coming this week and I couldn't be more excited. Auntie Mary is visiting from SF from Thursday-Sunday!! Everyone reading should start getting ideas and planning their visits ;)
The family from Cali have left and it is back to just the four of us: Topher, Bex, Beast, and I. On Grandma and crazy aunt Katie's last night they made Topher a birthday cake since they weren't with us to celebrate. Katie also came bearing gifts including a gift certificate to our favorite pub down the street called Archie Moore's- Bex loves it there because there are TVs everywhere. She also gave me a VINTAGE yale sweatshirt. I mean really vintage. It was Susan's from the 1950s. AWESOME! She also got Bex a wonderful hat pictured below. Also included is a pic of Topher blowing out his candles.
We have our first overnight guests! Bex is super excited that Grandma and crazy aunt Katie are visiting from SoCal. They arrived Wednesday night and we immediately went out for some beers to celebrate. Bex celebrates with his first ever french fry, which he really enjoyed before he choked on it. Last night after Bex went down we had a wonderful home cooked meal compliments of Susan! Bex then had an epically bad night (for him) because he is getting sick yet again. This day care thing is really beefing up his immune system... at least that is what I keep telling myself. Topher and I went to work today and Bex got to stay home with the visitors instead of heading to day care. Here are some pics of Bex eating his first fry and of our lovely dinner at home.
