Got to keep on moving... nothing going to break my stride

Bex is officially CRAWLING... EVERYWHERE. The movie shows when he was just starting to get going and now he is a pro. The day care writes us little notes everyday about Bex and here is what today's note said:

"He is crawling all around the room, to get to toys, his friends, and his teachers. He loves to crawl over to his non-crawling friends and sit next to them and play with some of the they they are playing with."

In other words he has identified the ones that he can easily steal from! Ha ha! Smart baby boy. We are finally feeling like we have a bit of a groove going here with day care and work and making dinner, etc. I'm just waiting for the next bout of constipation or a flu or something to hit. Until then the Keller-Carroll household is doing great and accepting visitors!

Way out in the westwoods

Sunday = Fun day!!

We got out and explored the area a bit today. It was sunny and we didn't even need our down jackets. We headed out to an area about twenty minutes away called Westwoods in Guilford. Guilford appears to a nearby county where a lot of the Yale faculty live because the schools are so much better there. It is quaint and beautiful and looks really boring. Here is a link to the trails if anyone is interested: http://www.westwoodsct.com/. All of the trails around here are marked by spray painted symbols (white circle, green square, yellow triangle, etc) as you can see on one of the pictures below. We took the white circle to the green circle and then back along the blue square. Weird.

Here are a few pics of our adventure:

Two cats

It is as if we have two cats. Whenever we get packaging in the mail we now have one beast hiding and jumping in it and one boy crawling all over and eating it.

Snow day in New Hay Hay

The title of this is actually false because we HAD a bunch of snow and now it is freaking raining! I understand what people are talking about with hating the weather here. It is one thing to have amazing snow, but it is another to need an umbrella while there is snow on the ground (I think that my Alaskan readers will agree... it is just wrong!) Bex seems to have mostly cleared his cold and we are picking it right up. Topher and I are sick now, but after seeing Bex sick, we are both complaining a lot less then we otherwise would. We are both hoping that this week is the week where we start getting things done at work, since we have done most of the other BS involved in moving (getting car registration, CT licenses with terrible pictures, etc.)

Here are a few pics from the week...

Bag-o-germs

Bex went to daycare for a total of 5 days and then got sick as a dog. The poor boy cannot breath very well and has a terrible cough that sounds like he is an old man. The one bonus, is that his cry is very weak and pathetic (I kid, I kid... it is horrible!) We have been taking lots of saunas, which include steaming up the bathroom. He seems okay during the days but nights and mornings are a bit tough. He has been waking up pretty consistently every 2 hours in need of a nursing or clearing of massive snot. Regardless he complains a lot less then either Topher or I. He is back in daycare for today and hopefully tomorrow and fingers are crossed for a full week next week. We also have our first social event in New Hay Hay: a party at my bosses house. It is on Sunday so I will give everyone the update later.

Here are a few sick boy pics... he can stand on his own in the pack n' play but needs help getting up there.

Baby Bex Bunting

Connect-I-cut

We have officially arrived in New Haven, Connecticut. We are all getting settled into daycare, work, and the new apartment. Work is taking awhile for both of us, but I think that we are on our way. Daycare is awesome and Bex seems to really enjoy it. In fact, he enjoys it so much that he is totally wiped out by the end of the day and sleeps better than on the weekends. Although he was there for a total of ONE week and already got sick. He had to stay home today. Poor boy has a nasty cough (Topher is sick too- I'm still holding strong... for now). Our new apartment is great with only a few minor things to still work out (like the terrible water pressure in the kitchen sink, and the cold draft from the downstairs). There are a ton of things that I want to tell everyone but I can't remember them now so instead I will post some pics of us all bundled up!

These stupid signs are ALL over the neighborhood- along with NO TURN ON RED signs- you can never turn on red here...

Here is a picture of the river about five blocks from our house. It is icy right now and quite beautiful.

Here is Bex in his new snowsuit. It is huge on him and I will try to post a video of him in it because it is so ridiculous.

Here is his 7 month picture!!
