It is THAT kind of party, huh?

We had Bex's end of the year party with all with Apple Tree friends. Bex had the best time with all his friends. It is really fun to watch him play with them. He definitely has his favorites though! About an hour into the party all the kids started taking off their clothes and Bex went full Monty immediately. At one point he was running around with a single piece of grass sticking out of him bum. He looked so startled when I got it out. Ha! Bex is also being a total rock star with potty training (not our doing!) He will pee in the potty the entire day at school except during nap time. The popping is a different story. We are moving to his new school next week and we have been talking about it non-stop. His new teacher, Miss Amanda came by for his home visit so that he knows someone on his first day. We also realized that someone we know from UCSF has a kid in his room! Small world. Here are some pics of my little nudey and the party.

If One-can Toucan

We were playing in the basement last night, which is Bex's favorite place in the new house and he re-discovered his Halloween costume. We got it at a garage sale because I cannot pass up a good costume! Bex looks hilarious in it and he was loving running around the house saying, "Hello" in a toucan voice. Here are the pics...

Hiking hiking hiking

We have gotten Bex on a weekly hiking schedule, only because it hasn't been warm enough to go to the pool (that should all change this week with expected temperatures in the 80-90s). We have been going up to Sleeping Giant, which is right across the street from my work. It has a bunch of great trails with many of them easy enough for Bex to hike on. Good night, Good night, Construction Site

Bex received a book called, "Good Night, Good Night, Construction Site" for his birthday in June and we have read it at least once every night since then. Today in the mail, Bex got a matching game that had pictures of the book from Nam and he freaked out!! He was so excited, matching bulldozers and excavators and even crane trucks. He still talks about his visit to a construction site with Don and his ride on a dump truck!! You can see his focus in the pictures below. I'm also including some pretty amazing art work by our little Picasso.

Adventures with Grandma

Here are the promised pics of Bex on his many adventures with Grandma! The peabody museum, bike riding and our trolley ride. School starts in less than two weeks and Bex starts his new school in three weeks from today. We have our new parents orientation tomorrow night so I will let everyone know how it goes!

Sandbox

Bex is newly obsessed with removing all of the sand from the turtle-shaped sandbox at RidgeTop and then the next day filling it back up with sand. It is the perfect toddler activity. We are still going to the pool club daily/weekly despite the lack of beautiful weather. It has actually been just about perfect lately but just not hot enough to jump in the unheated water. Topher's mom was here this weekend which was so fun (pics to follow, next post) and Bex had an awesome time with his Grandma! We went to the Trolley museum, Brooksvale farm, the farmer's market, and the Peabody museum. We packed a lot in a short time. Sad to see her go. In other exciting news- we saw our first cicada. We can definitely hear them and apparently they are starting to fall from the trees, not in very impressive numbers however.

Bexy and ClareBear

We are in the midst of changing day cares for Bex. We are more concerned about changing for preschool which would start next summer but a spot opened up in the new one and we figure it will be easier to move him the younger he is. The only really sad part is that Bex and his bestie will be split up. We will have to start making concrete weekly or bi-weekly plans so that Bex and Clare can see each other still. Here are a few pics of the two of them at Clare's house this weekend. On another note, Bex peed in potty TWICE at school today. Very exciting, but he has yet to show interest at the house!

I almost forgot to mention that they new day care has its own chef and provides all the kids with lunch, so soon we won't have to make a lunch every morning. Yee-haw!!

Playday

We have been spending most of our free time at the pool this summer so this weekend we took a departure to the playground, the volunteer fireman's carnival, and Clare's house. The fireman's carnival sounded so awesome but it turns out that we literally couldn't ride on anything because you had to be at least 36". At least Bex got to hang out with some firetrucks. We went to Clare-bear's house to play outside and then spent some quality time at the local playground. Hope everyone had a good weekend. We are seriously trying to enjoy every second that we have least of summer!!
