Mom and Seeester

Sorry that I've been a bad blogger as of late. I have been too depressed to post all the fun pics of my mom and sister's visit. It just sucks being so far away from family, especially knowing that it is going to be like this for an undetermined about of time. Ugh. Hate. Sad. Needless to say that we had a fantastic time when they were here and literally did everything there is to do in New Haven, including going to a a very muddy park (shown below). I will post more when my spirits are higher...

Naked after a long weekend

We had a very long and fun weekend. We went to Boston for a friend's wedding celebration this weekend. We stayed in some shady hotel and took Bex with us to the party. He did great (and even rocked the dance floor) until about 9pm and then he was just finished. The next morning we drove into Cambridge and had breakfast with a friend that Topher went to grad school with. Bex had an awesome time running around the playground in Cambridge and walking up and down the hall of our friend's very un-child-friendly apartment. We then drove back to New Haven (about 2.5h and Bex slept the ENTIRE way) and went to a BBQ at one of Topher's colleague's houses in a neighborhood where we may potentially buy next year. It was a very fun and busy weekend to say the least. Bex unwound by doing a little laundry...

Walking Fool

Bex is a walking maniac. I feel like it happened all within one week. He used to walk along the wall and now he just goes straight for the middle of the room (or for the cat). It is almost strange to see him on his knees, because he is not into crawling anymore. He's all growed up folks. The other big news is the tooth breaking on through to the other side. Finally it is showing its tiny white self and Bex has been in a much better mood. Tomorrow there is a neighborhood fair that we are going to in the morning and then we head to Boston for a friend's wedding party! Yee-haw!

Topher's mom and sister came to NYC with us!! Here are some snapshots of our trip to the big city!

N to the Y to the C

The Keller-Carroll clan had quite an exciting weekend. Topher headed up to NYC on Friday after work to hang out with some friends from his old lab at Stanford. Bex and I got ourselves ready and packed up for Bex's first train trip on Saturday morning. It was super easy and Bex was a good boy on the ride up. Topher met us at the train station and then we had a great afternoon playing in the grass at Bryant Park, riding the subway to SoHo, walking around in his new teeny tiny $15 stroller. On saturday night Topher's mom and sister came and babysat while Topher and I went to a wedding at the Boat House in Central Park (we even took a peddler taxi to the wedding through central park!)

Mother's Day Tea

On Thursday of this week Apple Tree Day Care had all of the mothers come in for tea and snacks. It was great and I got to meet a few of other moms that I hadn't met yet. It was really fun to hang out with all the babies and the moms together for a little while. They also gave us our mother's day gift, which is so cute. Bex clearly worked very hard on his (note the "handprint" is definitely more a schmear on the pot).
