This weekend was full of fun activities. On Friday night we went to a friend's house (Masha and Dan who have a small maniac of a child named Lionel) for a evening BBQ. It had been awhile to since we saw them and Bex loves all of Lionel's toys. Then on Saturday we had a tornado warning but that didn't stop us from going to the free New Haven folk festival, where we ran into two other sets of friends (Rene, Jeff, and Clare- the one's we went to the Yale Lake with) and a new potential friend from Quinnipiac who is also a new prof there and her husband. Then on Sunday we got up and headed to The Pantry for breakfast- it is actually a pretty decent breakfast- and we ran into Masha, Dan, and Lionel! We all had a great breakfast together. Topher, Bex, and I then went to the North Haven County Fair where Bex went nuts seeing all the animals. In particular he loved feeding the goats and now tries to feed all the dogs in the neighborhood. He was a little nervous about the camel but was very impressed with the elephant and the sheep! Felt like we actually have a few friends this weekend- and we may even like them! Today was the first cool day all season and it definitely is starting to feel like fall- we are excited for it! Here are some pics from the fair.
Please tell me Lionel has trains...
ReplyDeleteYou are settling in so well. That is awesome. Feeling sad for the elephant, though.
ReplyDeleteGreat to know that the County Fair is alive and well in the Northeast! Is there a New Haven 4H? Headed out to the Santa Cruz one today. Bex is lookin' great in his little-guy blue oxford shirt and khakis.
