Topher is away at a conference so Bex and I decided to venture out of New Haven to a nearby town where there is an awesome KidCity Museum. I didn't expect too much (it is Connecticut afterall) and was totally WOWED! It was so freaking cool! Bex got to do so much. He went sliding, looked at cool bubbles (he can now say bubble!), picked carrots and weighed them, moved fish up big pulley systems, drummed on walls, drove cars, explored underwater caves, painted a fence and more. We will definitely be back!! I will hopefully post some movies from this next time.

Playground Time
We have been having a great time at the playground after school! Bex loves being outside and is friends with most everyone there. This weekend we busted out Bex's latest and greatest wardrobe too. He gets all of his cousin's hand-me-downs including the ridiculous skinny jeans and shark sweatshirt (featured below). He looked so hipster... he remembers that he was born in San Francisco! Tonight at the playground we ran into his friend Charlotte who likes to take Bex's cherrios and feed them to him. She takes about three for herself and then gives Bex one, and repeats until the cup is empty. It is pretty darn cute!

NYC and Fair
I headed to NYC this weekend to visit three of my very good friends. One of them lives there and the other two were visiting her. It was so fun and I ended up staying Saturday night there so it was Boys Time in New Hay Hay this weekend! They had a good time. On Sunday, Topher and Bex picked me up at the train station and Bex and I went to a neighborhood park that was having a fair. We went on a pony ride (really just two horses dragging a carriage behind) which Bex went nuts for and we ran into our friend Masha and her son Lionel. The kiddos had a great time running around the community garden together. On the way home Bex was starving and couldn't cram enough cereal bar into his mouth!

North Haven County Fair
This weekend was full of fun activities. On Friday night we went to a friend's house (Masha and Dan who have a small maniac of a child named Lionel) for a evening BBQ. It had been awhile to since we saw them and Bex loves all of Lionel's toys. Then on Saturday we had a tornado warning but that didn't stop us from going to the free New Haven folk festival, where we ran into two other sets of friends (Rene, Jeff, and Clare- the one's we went to the Yale Lake with) and a new potential friend from Quinnipiac who is also a new prof there and her husband. Then on Sunday we got up and headed to The Pantry for breakfast- it is actually a pretty decent breakfast- and we ran into Masha, Dan, and Lionel! We all had a great breakfast together. Topher, Bex, and I then went to the North Haven County Fair where Bex went nuts seeing all the animals. In particular he loved feeding the goats and now tries to feed all the dogs in the neighborhood. He was a little nervous about the camel but was very impressed with the elephant and the sheep! Felt like we actually have a few friends this weekend- and we may even like them! Today was the first cool day all season and it definitely is starting to feel like fall- we are excited for it! Here are some pics from the fair.

Lake Powers
The Keller-Carroll clan had a pretty awesome long weekend. We headed to the Yale Outdoor Education Center- which is just a fancy name for a kick ass lake, cabins, camp ground that Yale owns. You can only get in with a Yale ID and it is only about an hour away from our house. We went up there this weekend with some friends of ours and there kid, Claire, who is in Bex's class at school. The lake was awesome and I got to fulfill a life-long dream of paddle-boarding!! Bex played in the water and had a great time looking at the two little goats on the property. We were all a little bummed that we discovered this place on the last weekend of the summer that it is open. Here are some pics- starting with me driving the new Prius, looking very New England. Ending with Bex being totally worn out on the way home.
