We desperately need to play catch up on the blog. Here is a picture to hold you over. I got this via text message this morning from his school...

The last of the leaves
The last of the leaves are coming down. It has been a really beautiful and long fall season. The leaves on our big tree in the backyard held on until this week when the big yellow leaves tumbled down in the wind. We had Clare over to play in the leaves before we had to rake all of them up. In our town of North Haven, we just have to rake them to the side of the road and then they magically disappear. Here are some great pics of Bex that Topher took. There will be hopefully be a movie of Bex and Clare soon.

Moo Boo... Pawooo Boo!!
At school Bex dressed up as a Toucan- I will hopefully get some pics of this! After school on Halloween night we headed over to our old neighborhood to go trick or treating with Clare and Asher. Before we left we had pizza, only after they each served themselves salad on their placemats. Clare and Bex were quite the pair!

Fall has fallen
It is so pretty outside with the leaves being bright gold and red and yellow. Bex is enjoying raking the new lawn with us and in particular jumping in the giant piles. It is hard to get a good picture of him because it is so busy jumping and flopping around. Here is my best attempt. Also included in the fall pics is the most amazing squash that Cousin Meg made us. We are definitely going through Meg-withdraws since she cooked us gourmet dinners every night after we got back from work. She is a far better cook then either Topher or myself!! We are going to try and all get together for Thanksgiving too- the east coast Alaskans have got to stay together!!

Where did it go?!?
Where did October go? I can't seem to find it. I have been so much better about blogging and then I looked at the last date and it was October 5! A lot happened despite the lack of communication. I had a birthday, Colin came to visit, we spend a few nights in NYC, cousin Meg came and stayed with us for a week, and it is officially fall time here. It is a beautiful fall with warm days, cool nights, and lots of fun times with friends. Here are a few pics of some of our adventures. I have a back-log of pics so hopefully I will be better with the updates.

Tractor Tractor
Just hanging out at the playground the other day when Bex spotted these beauties across the field. Of course we had to run over and he had to drive them. He really liked the red one but he informed me that the green one had a bouncier seat. He is a sweet boy! Although, he is definitely a toddler and his fits are starting to become fairly often. I totally understand why Lia has her boys outside all the time- so much easier to deal with :)

Stella is here
This is a special blog dedicated to a new little addition to the world. Stella Matyskeila (yes- it rhymes!) One of my best friends, Mary had a healthy little girl. They are both doing well after a pregnancy and delivery that was shockingly similar to mine. See her adorable picture below. Also included for everyone's amusement- I honestly can't remember if I posted these pictures, so my apologies if they are a repeat. Let's just say- it is never too early to get your kid working in lab with you :)

Tantrum
The title of this blogpost is not what it sounds like. Tantrum is the name of the place where I took Bex to get his very first professional haircut this weekend. I had been cutting his hair since he was just a few months old and as you can see from the before-haircut picture below it was not a good look. He was a little nervous at first and preferred to sit on my lap but he was a trooper and thought it was funny when the clippers tickled his ears. He was also very proud because he got a certificate showing that it was his first haircut. He held onto the certificate the entire ride home and then put it on the fridge so that dad could see it when he got home. Check out the pics of before, after, and the certificate...

Pet that zoo
We have been doing a good job of getting Bex and Clare together since we have pulled Bex away and into a different school. Last week we went to a end of the summer festival which had the giant slide featured on the last post as well as a petting zoo (which will be featured below). This fall is going to be a busy one in terms of travel- I am heading to SF in late October to visit the newly arrived baby Stella (Topher bought me a ticket to see Mary and her newborn for my birthday), then in mid-December I'm going to New Orleans for a conference and then Topher booked our flights to LA for Christmas so we will get to see the LA relatives.

Towel Time
Bexy has been really into the new discovery we made- one of his towels doubles as a COAT! He thinks it is hilarious to jump out of the bath and put on his funny coat. He runs around the house with the little hood on and his arms out. He practices his snapping skills in the front and his silly skills everywhere else.

Labor Day
We headed over to Clare-Bear's house for a Labor Day BBQ. Bex had a great time running around with Clare (noodle) and Asher (puppy). Again, it began with Bex getting naked- but this time he somehow ended up with Clare's shirt on at the end. It was very nice to see friends and eat lots of delicious food. We brought pigs in blankets and Bex was very excited to eat "little hotdogs in tiny buns." Bex is also settling in at his new school. We were pretty worried about the food program because they make all the food that the kids eat, therefore Bex no longer eats a yogurt every day for lunch with hummus and crackers or left over mac-n-cheese. He has been doing great with the food, his naps, and the potty. He continues to be the sweetest boy ever. Pics below are from the labor day picnic.

NOT ready for fall
It feels like it is going to be a very premature fall this year. Despite the fact that I really do love fall here with the amazing trees and colors and weather- I'm not quite ready for summer to be over. It is the last weekend that the pool club is open and it has been thunderstorms on and off all afternoon. Topher, Bex and I did manage to hit up the farmer's market this weekend and with only 12$ in our pockets we got pretzel rolls, salad mix, and heirloom tomatoes. I had to pass on the delicious blueberry lemonade this time (Susan turned mo onto this amazing beverage when she was visiting!) Below are some pics on our way to the market.
